S3D Labs branding in electric blue, cyan, magenta, and silver

The digital makerspace / 18+

S3DLabs.

Bring an idea.
Or just your curiosity.

We come together to make cool shit and learn along the way. Code, AI, 3D printing, electronics. Whatever gets the idea out of your head and into the world.

Curiosity becomes a starting point.

Ideas welcome. Experience optional.

You don't need a workshop to belong in one.

S3D Labs is a digital makerspace: a place to bring a half-formed idea, a stubborn problem, or the simple question, "What happens if we try this?" We bring different skills together and figure it out as we go.

You can write the code, design the part, ask your first question, or help someone else get unstuck. This is an 18+ community where curiosity counts, unfinished projects belong, and learning is part of the build.

Community labs

Pick a lane, or bounce between them.

01

Programming

Web apps, automation, scripting, debugging, and practical software projects that help members move from idea to working tool.

02

AI

Prompting, agent workflows, local tools, image and text experiments, and applied AI for makers who want results they can test.

03

3D Printing

FDM and resin printing, slicer tuning, material choices, model repair, functional parts, props, brackets, mounts, and prototypes.

04

Electronics

Microcontrollers, wiring, sensors, LEDs, enclosures, repair, testing, and the patient art of finding the wire that betrayed you.

Built in the lab

Real ideas. Working experiments.

Community tools, local AI, and a little less friction. Open a project to see what we're building.

Syd

The S3D Labs assistant. Helping members get settled, find their people, and keep the community moving.

Explore project

Syd handles rules-reaction onboarding, self-selected specialty roles, dice rolls, and practical moderation tools.

  • Choose the specialties you want to follow.
  • Roll dice without leaving the conversation.
  • Help moderators audit onboarding and manage the server.

LinkCue Suite

A connected bot, manager, and player for organizing video requests and keeping a stream's queue moving.

Explore project

LinkCue brings request intake, queue management, and playback together. Its Twitch commands let viewers add requests and check the queue, while the manager gives the host a central control panel.

  • A bot to coordinate requests and queue updates.
  • A manager for host controls and moderation.
  • A player that follows the shared queue.

Still in development and awaiting live testing. The suite is being reworked as we refine the workflow.

AI / Local workspaceEarly foundation / v0.5

The Brain

A local-first AI workspace for coding, documents, and experiments with image and video generation.

Explore project

The Brain brings chat, selected project files, local conversation history, and reviewed code changes into one workspace. CPU inference is the default, with optional GPU acceleration.

  • Discuss code and documents using files you select.
  • Review proposed patches before applying them.
  • Explore local image and video workflows with separately configured models.

An early foundation, with models installed separately. Media quality, GPU support, and Windows operation need validation on the target hardware.

Codex Engine

Spend less time hunting through rulebooks. Search your own TTRPG PDF collection from a local desktop workspace.

Explore project

Codex Engine indexes PDF text locally, searches across enabled books, and opens results in a built-in page reader or the original PDF.

  • Import books, detect duplicates, and choose which sources to search.
  • Read cleaned-up page text and make your own corrections.
  • Optionally use a local Ollama model to restore page formatting.

S3D services

Need more than advice? Bring the project to the lab.

Precision 3D Printing

Bring your STL or 3MF file and tell us what you want to make. We can talk through FDM or resin, materials, and the details together.

Talk about your print

Custom 3D Design

Modify an existing model, customize a store item, or start from scratch with a design brief and any reference files you already have.

Talk about your design

Electronics & Prototype Help

Get help thinking through small builds, wiring plans, component choices, enclosures, mounts, and the practical next step for a working prototype.

How collaboration works

Clear inputs, honest feedback, usable outputs.

  1. Share

Post your goal, file, reference, sketch, or question. Rough ideas are welcome if the next step is clear.

  2. Refine

Members help you tighten specs, catch risks, choose tools, and decide what is worth building first.

  3. Build

Make the first version. Test it, break it, share what you learned, and build the next one together.

Start a conversation

Your idea deserves a conversation.

A sketch, a file, a question, or just curiosity. Come tell us about it, and we'll figure out the next step together.

Meet the makers

Pull up a chair on Discord.

This is where we share ideas, talk through projects, swap files, and learn from each other. Bring what you've got. You don't need all the answers.
